ACT offers a variety of workshops throughout the year. Local instructors conduct makeup, light and sound, and set building presentations. Other workshops allow interaction with touring performers from our Music and Movement series. Workshops currently being offered are listed below.

Current workshop opportunities
Ballroom, Latin, and Swing Workshop with Sossy Mechanics
Learn everything from the basic vocabulary of Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Rhumba, Cha Cha, Salsa and Swing (including West Coast, East Coast, and Lindy Hop) to advanced American Style technique with emphasis on social enjoyment or performance.
1 hour class - Tuesday March 8th and Wednesday March 9th at 7pm
Character Development for Performance
Employ physical, facial, and vocal tools to stretch the possibilities of the performer's range of characters. Create short pieces for performance
2 one-hour classes: Tuesday, March 8th and Wednesday, March 9th at 4pm-5:30pm
Creativity: Interactive TED-Type Talks
"The Secret to our Success: Playing with Reality" and "Going Out of Your Mind and Back in Again: Playing with Purpose" are lecture/demonstrations introducing some of the concepts of creativity employed in the work done by writers, choreographers, directors, performers, and producers.
They address the concept of playing and playfulness (a kind of ego less mindfullness) as an essential element of creativity, and then demonstrate various tools to hone the discoveries made.
1 60-90 minutes session: Wednesday March 9 at 11:30am-1pm
