October 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11 Directed by Jack Mitchell Angel Street, the stage version of Gaslight, tells the demonic story of the Manninghams. Under a guise of kindness, Mr. Manningham is torturing his wife into insanity, accusing her of petty aberrations that he has arranged himself. A benign police inspector visits while her scheming husband is out of the house and ultimately proves that her husband is a criminal suspected of a murder committed 15 years ago. The inspector also insists that that Mr. Manningham is preparing to dispose of her next. The game of exposing his plot and gathering evidence needed to convict him drive the exciting, melodramatic plot. |
